Chef Héctor Leyva, a staple of Punta Mita’s culinary scene and community, brings bold flavors from the many regions of Mexican cuisine—including fresh fish and produce sourced locally on the Pacific coast. Quality ingredients make effortless combinations, with savory hints of creativity inspired by Chef Leyva’s world travels.

In 2014, six months after opening Malva Restaurant, he was recognized at the Gourmet Awards, the most important in the country, as “Best New Restaurant in Mexico” and Revelation Chef. That same year, he was nominated by Food and Travel magazine as Chef Promise of the country and Best New Restaurant in Mexico. Later he associates with three friends from the university and founds VESUVIO, Hornos de Brasa in the city of Puebla, by 2019 is the best-selling brand of charcoal ovens in Mexico and the third in the United States, with sales of 150 units per year. In 2017, he was named the best Chef of the year in Baja California by Todos Santos Magazine.
